  • Accustomed to sometimes polemical statements, the government spokesperson, Sibeth Ndiaye, did she say something surprising to say the least in the midst of a health crisis?
  • "I ask pregnant women to hold back for a few weeks," she would have said, according to a quote circulating on social networks.
  • But this phrase was invented by a parody site and is now taken out of context.

“She [has] a hell of a silly, silly coat”, “crazy”, “you have to get the slap machine out again…”

On Facebook, a quote allegedly uttered by Sibeth Ndiaye earned him many insults and criticisms. Because, according to a screenshot which would have been taken "during the broadcast of [Jean-Jacques] Bourdin" on BFMTV and RMC, the government spokesperson would have affirmed, in full overload of hospitals because of the coronavirus epidemic: "I ask pregnant women to hold back for a few weeks".

But it is actually a parody quote, taken seriously by some Internet users who discover it out of context.

FAKE OFF

These words were in fact invented by "From a safe source", a "humorous and parodic site" in an article dated March 21, illustrated with the same visual.

As for the screenshot of Sibeth Ndiaye on the set of BFMTV and RMC, it dates back to his time on the Jean-Jacques Bourdin show on January 24, long before the coronavirus epidemic reached France.
