The cult-declared British musician and artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge has passed away at age 70, reports the New York Times.

In the 1970s, P-Orridge was one of the members of the Throbbing Gristle group, pioneering industrial music, and then one of the founders of the art and music collective Psychic TV, pioneers in electronic music and music videos.

Farewell to the fans

Genesis Breyer P-Orridge was an icon in the avant-garde culture and has often been seen as a provocateur. In the joint art project "Pandrogeny", P-Orridge and his life partner Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge sought to try to become more or less mirror images of each other through plastic surgery, among other things, to create a common appearance beyond gender and identity. Lady Jaye though 2007 but Genesis continued the project on her own.

In November 2018, Breyer P-Orridge did his last concert, and said goodbye to his fans, at Heaven in London. P-Orridge died last Saturday as a result of leukemia.
