The director of Tunisian Airlines said today that the authorities are going to take a decision to cancel flights due to the spread of the deadly Corona virus.

The company’s director, Elias Al-Manqabi, said that the company is awaiting a decision that may be announced tomorrow, following the meeting of Prime Minister-designate Yusef Al-Shahid with Acting Minister of Transport Roni Traboulsi later on Monday.

"The company cannot take the decision now. We are waiting for the minister's meeting with the prime minister and the president of the republic," said Al-Manqabi.

"The issue is related to national security. We may have to cancel some flights that pose a threat to the spread of the Coruna virus," Al-Manqabi added.

Italy is the closest European destination to Tunisia, and it is one of the most places that the virus can leak from after the sixth death in this country.

Tunisia has not yet announced any cases of the virus.
