African football: former CAF Secretary General Amr Fahmy dead

Amr Fahmy, former chief of administration (Secretary General) of the African Football Confederation (CAF), died at the age of 37. His father and grandfather had also been Secretary General of CAF. The Egyptian, who had been seriously ill for several months, was dismissed in April 2019 for "professional misconduct". He had launched himself into the race for the presidency of the institution.
