Armless Mexican model Anna Gabriela Molina wants to challenge the traditional notions of body attractiveness by winning the Beauty Pageants contest in her hometown of Veracruz.

Molina, a 24-year-old psychology graduate, said last week that accepting her condition was difficult, but she wanted to set an example for others with a disability.

"I succeeded in overcoming everything I encountered in my entire life," she told Reuters in the coastal city of Coatzacoalcos in eastern Mexico.

She explained that her birth without arms did not prevent her from eating, using a mobile phone, or writing with her feet.

In March, Molina will participate in the beauty pageant in Veracruz, which overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and has a population of more than eight million. If she wins, she will qualify for the Miss Mexico contest in June.

"I will face the same tests as everyone else, and I will pass them." I feel like everyone else is normal because I lived my life this way. Therefore, for me, my disability is not a restriction, on the contrary. ” Molina gives motivational lectures and sometimes works as a model.
