A 48-year-old former employee of a major telecommunications company was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Agency for allegedly violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Act for gaining access to company servers and illegally obtaining confidential information. The former employee had made a statement to the effect that he had given the information to the staff of the Russian Trade Representative in Japan and the former staff, and the Metropolitan Police Department requested the Russian side to appear through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
