The United Arab Emirates called for taking a number of necessary steps that would contribute to changing the course of negative trends and reducing escalation in order to resolve regional crises and bring regional and international stability.

Mrs. Al-Hafiti noted that there is an opportunity to achieve these goals, through commitment to the implementation of international law, the United Nations Charter and Security Council resolutions, expressing in this regard the UAE's concern about the continued illegal Israeli practices against the brotherly Palestinian people, including its continued building of settlements that undermine The two-state solution violates the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1994 and the relevant United Nations resolutions, especially Resolution No. / 2016/2334, and considered the demolition of Palestinian property, the confiscation of lands, the violation of the sanctity of holy sites in the city of Jerusalem, and the continuation of the unjust siege on Gaza as a measure Illegal bribes hinder peace efforts and exacerbate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Mrs. Al-Hafiti discussed the wider scope of the region’s situation, stressing the need to strengthen the implementation of international law, which is the basis for building confidence between the parties and preventing the spread of chaos and wars, in order to achieve regional stability and security, and called in this context to the need for states to respect the principles of sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of states .

She also mentioned other steps that contribute to resolving crises, namely focusing on reducing escalation and calm while activating political action as a basic option to deal with any tensions that may occur in the scope of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict or in the region as a whole, as well as strengthening multilateral action to break the current deadlock in the political process. In the East and to urge the parties to reach lasting political solutions, whether in Palestine or in other countries in the region, such as Syria, Yemen and Libya, in line with the agreed terms of reference for peace and achieve the legitimate aspirations of the peoples.

She stressed the importance of the international community seeking to create an environment suitable for peace efforts in countries suffering from crises and to address any measures that will have serious and multiple security, military and economic repercussions on these countries and the entire region, noting to the recent Berlin conference on Libya with the participation of the UAE as an example of Mobilizing international efforts to address any negative trends that would exacerbate crises rather than solve them, and praised in this regard the efforts of the Republic of Germany in holding the conference, expressing its hope that the conference would lead to a political process under the auspices of the United Nations and that all parties would commit to implementing a way out Te.

She also stressed the important role played by the United Nations and the envoys of the Secretary-General, to enhance mediation and preventive diplomacy efforts to resolve the region's conflicts by peaceful means, stressing the need to involve regional organizations such as the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in consultations related to regional issues.

In this context, she called on the international community to intensify its efforts to implement the two-state solution and declare an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions, the Madrid principles, and the Arab Peace Initiative, noting that the Palestinian issue will remain the central and most important Arab issue The concerns of the Islamic Ummah, and therefore, the restoration of stability to the region will not be achieved without a just, lasting and comprehensive solution to this issue.

Mrs. Al-Hafiti pointed to a fourth and final step, which is to intensify humanitarian aid for people affected by conflict while continuing to support development and reconstruction efforts to help these peoples achieve prosperity and implement the sustainable development goals.

In this regard, she called for focusing on the need to address the deteriorating humanitarian and economic conditions in the Palestinian territories and support vital sectors in them, especially in the Gaza Strip, which suffers from difficult humanitarian conditions, and pledged that the UAE will continue to enhance its humanitarian and development aid to Palestine, noting that the UAE is one of the largest donors to UNRWA, Over the past five years, it has worked to provide more than 630 million US dollars to finance various sectors in Palestine.
