On January 24, in the first pavilion of the Mosfilm film concern, the annual Golden Eagle award ceremony was held at the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Russia. The 18th ceremony for the first time was held without leading, but the announcement of the prize winners alternated with musical performances. The ceremony was opened by the new Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova.

Before the direct presentation of the awards, an innovation was announced: since this year, the monetary equivalent of the Golden Eagle award has been established - in individual nominations it is 150 thousand rubles, and for the best film and series - 300 thousand rubles

The first to receive the award were the creators of the best non-fiction film (“Without a statute of limitations. Opening the cabinet of shame”) and an animated film (“He cannot live without space”). The best foreign film in Russian box office for 2019 was recognized by John Favreau's The Lion King.

The figurine in the nomination "Best Short Film" went to the director of the film "Interview" Ivan Sosnin. For the "Golden Eagle" in this category also fought the tape "Mom" and "One historical mistake."

In the television category "Golden Eagle" was awarded "Bad weather" (in the nomination for the best series) and "Godunov" (as the best television movie or mini-series). The television project is dedicated to the sunset of the life of Boris Godunov and the subsequent Polish intervention. At the center of a dynamic, eventful narrative are many key figures of that period. Also, the tape is distinguished by an abundance of colorful costumes and scenery with Russian flavor, which convey the spirit of the turn of the XVI-XVII centuries.

Godunov is the only television series in this category. His two competitors - “Call DiCaprio!” And “Storm” - were shown only on online platforms.

The award in the category "Best Actress in Television" went to Anna Mikhalkova (TV series "Storm"). In the START video service project, she played the terminally ill beloved protagonist Marina. The actress noted that in preparation for the shooting, special attention was paid to information about hepatitis (it was this disease that threatened the life of her character).

“It was such an important job for me that I thought that even if they did not call me, I would still leave. It was a challenge, this is my personal victory, and also this is the victory of those people who daily fight for their lives, ”Mikhalkova said in a thank-you speech.

“Golden Eagle” in the nomination for “Best Actor in Television” received Pavel Derevyanko (“House Arrest”).

“The mood is bombing. An eagle in a nest, ”commented the artist.
