A new study revealed that cats are happy to eat food from dead bodies, and this means that if you die, your pet will devour your body.

Researchers at the University of Colorado req studied cat-obsessed behavior after discovering how two cats stormed the university's research center and were feeding on decomposing corpses there.

The cats did not visit the concentrated one-time only. Rather, they returned on several occasions to eat corpses, focusing on the tissues of the arms.

Interestingly, researchers found that cats returned to the same corpses that they began eating. "The main theory is that cats are difficult to satisfy with eating, and once they find the food they like, they will stick to it," said Sarah Carcia, author of the study.

The researchers left 40 human corpses outdoors for 35 days in the hope of understanding what was happening about the degradation of the flesh, but CCTV cameras showed two wild cats storming the facility, before they began to devour the bodies.

One focused her attention on the body of a 79-year-old woman, biting soft tissues in the left arm and chest.

The second cat was seen eating the arm and stomach of a 70-year-old man. During the next 35 days, when the bodies were left outdoors, the cats returned to the site, and went to the bodies they initially chose on each visit to the center.

Although the results are very bleak, but it was not surprising, according to the research team, as there are many cases where pets were fed with the bodies of their owners after being dismantled, according to Dr. Melissa Connor, the author involved in the study.
