Usuki City has been carrying out restoration work every year since 2010 to keep the condition of the stone buddha in good condition, and the state was opened to the public on the 19th.

A specialized contractor commissioned by the city uses a special device to irradiate ultraviolet rays to kill moss that grew on the surface of the stone buddha, and then carefully brushed off the stone buddha with a large and small brush so as not to damage it. Was.

Visitors watched the work from scaffolds that were specially set up next to the stone Buddha.
