Within the activities of the third session of the "Aziamey" training program for Emirati women pioneers, 10 designers participated in two workshops that dealt with the latest methods of planning brands, enhancing their presence in the market, and the technologies necessary to present a product with an attractive and modern design that highlights the brand identity.

The "Heritage" Council for Contemporary Crafts, affiliated with the Namaa Foundation for the Advancement of Women, launched the program in cooperation with the London College of Fashion, as the third course began last June, and the program continues until next March, and aims to provide the necessary support to develop the work of the new generation of Emirati designers, and upgrade their skills In the fashion industry, giving them opportunities to promote their designs globally.

The first workshop, which was held over five days, finally focused on familiarizing the participants with the skills of highlighting the brand’s identity in the designs and taking professional photos of them, as the designers applied the theoretical steps that they learned during the workshop, by running a photo session to obtain photos that highlight The brand benefits and contributes to providing it with the best standards for the audience, with the help of a team of professional photographers.

The Council organized the second workshop at the Al-Bayt Hotel in Sharjah, during which the fashion designer and co-lecturer at the London College of Fashion, Kerry Panagio, during the first two days, introduced participants to the best methods to highlight the aesthetics of their designs using important phrases and terms in the fashion world, and also dealt with the concept of brand promotion Business, and transform designs into final products, with a focus on methods for preparing design, advertising and e-commerce brochures.

After the workshop, Aziamey organized three-day sessions to test the photography skills of the participating designers.

Regarding the objectives of the program and the "Heritage" Council, the director of the Foundation, Namaa Reem bin Karam, said: "The Aziyami training program for fashion pioneers aims to nurture the talents of distinguished young designers, develop their creative skills, and give them the opportunity to access new markets around the world, in line with our vision. To support women entrepreneurs, enhance their self-confidence in launching special projects, and give them an opportunity to take advantage of the training courses offered by the program to consolidate their presence in the fashion world. ” She added: “The program reflects the comprehensive vision of the Nama Foundation and (Heritage) Council towards building the capabilities of women and enabling them to be self-reliant, by launching projects of their own in the various craft sectors, as it embodies our joint efforts to upgrade the creative skills of young generations, by providing opportunities Training and specialized workshops that will support them to build a successful and sustainable career. ”

Sustainable practices

This year, "Aziamey" program focuses on introducing participants to ethical and sustainable practices in the fashion industry, training them on the basics of business model innovation mechanisms, as well as developing their skills in project and brand management, public relations, sales and marketing.
