• ADVENTURE: This woman is the youngest person to visit every country in the world
  • ESCAPADAS. The 15 most beautiful new villages in Spain

We introduce you to the youngest Spanish in history who has traveled around the world. His name is Álvaro Rojas, he is 32 years old, he is from Madrid and with the last country he has just stepped on, Cape Verde, he can already say he knows the entire planet. And something else: that is the youngest Spaniard to have traveled the globe. Not surprisingly, the African archipelago that we have just cited is number 197 in its list of countries visited and, according to the UN, the official number of states in the world is 194, at least in what refers to those recognized with self-government and complete independence.

Rojas's connection with travel comes from afar, since it has always been his passion and as soon as he saved some money he launched himself to look for flights, book hotels, investigate new routes and discover the world. In addition, after finishing his studies, he decided to work abroad for a while. Thus, for example, he has served as financial manager of the Repsol branches in Angola and Gabon .

Rojas, in the Maldives and on a safari in Tanzania.

When he arrived in those countries, yes, he already had 105 routes. After the African experience, he decided to take two sabbatical years to complete his challenge: go around the world, when he had visited 105 countries. Since then, he has traveled the world, "soaking up not only the beauty of each country, but also its inhabitants," its primary objective. Therefore, he can be considered "a walking travel guide", as he describes himself.

Arrests, abuses and other dangerous experiences

From his experiences across the entire planet he can rescue all kinds of anecdotes. And not all are nice. Namely: he almost died drowned in Zanzibar, he was arrested in Afghanistan, he was run over in Congo, he was infected with typhus in India and he survived a hurricane in Taiwan and a fire in Japan, these last two experiences in the same week.

The young man, on the coast of Ghana and in Madagascar.

Not everything will be adventures, since Madrid has also been able to enjoy authentic luxury hotels in Maldives that cost 3,000 euros a night . On the other hand, Red has also carried out unique feats such as reaching Everest Base Camp after two weeks crossing the Friendship Route, from Tibet to Kathmandu through the Himalayas. He has also become a private Robinson Crusoe by staying alone for three days on an uninhabited island in the Marshall , in the Pacific.

He also proudly remembers seeing all kinds of wild animals: gorillas in Uganda, humpback whales in Tonga ... "In addition, I have been able to do balloon safaris in Kenya, sleep in a tree house in Tanzania with elephants one meter away."
