Almudena Ariza has resigned from the position of Director of Informative of RTVE after the workers of the public entity voted their suitability in a referendum. Despite the positive endorsement of the workers, the current correspondent in Paris of TVE has decided not to accept the position for which Enric Hernández had proposed to him in substitution of Begoña Alegría, considering that the majority "is not enough", according to the Ariza herself in an internal statement.

Almudena Ariza statement:

Once the results of the referendum are known among TVE professionals, I am obliged to submit my resignation to the proposal to direct the Information Services. My candidacy has been approved but by a majority that I do not consider sufficient. Of a census of 3200 companions have only voted in favor 308 and there have been 117 votes against.

My main strength to carry out the digital transformation project is the group of informative professionals. I interpret that I do not have a majority support and that I have not known how to excite or convince.

I thank Enric Hernández, director of Information and News of RTVE, for having proposed me for this position and I trust that he will find someone whom the editorial staff considers most suitable for this position. And, of course, I apologize in advance for the inconvenience my decision may generate.

I will continue to perform my task as a correspondent with the same enthusiasm and energy as always, now from Paris. Greetings and, anticipating the holidays, I wish you all a merry Christmas.
