Lars Vandke, the German optometrist, said that contact lenses are not an ideal solution for vision correction, as there are medical conditions in which lenses cannot be worn.

Vandke explained that, for example, contact lenses cannot be used to correct what is known as latent or hidden strabismus, as this condition can be treated with medical glasses that include a leaflet.

It is also not possible to wear contact lenses in case of conjunctivitis or in the season of allergic rhinitis (hay fever). So Vandage emphasized that contact lenses are primarily a temporary aesthetic solution for vision correction.
