According to the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Kyushu Electric Power was informed that smoke had come out from the substation of the Genkai Nuclear Power Station in Saga Prefecture after 4pm on the 10th. After that, the fire department rushed and confirmed that the fire was extinguished after 4:30 pm.

Although the Unit 3 and Unit 4 are in operation at the Genkai Nuclear Power Plant, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, there is no fire from the substation and there is no impact on power generation, so there is no problem in operation.

In addition, there is no change in the value of the monitoring post that observes the surrounding radiation dose.

The cause is currently being investigated by Kyushu Electric Power, and the regulatory agency will receive reports in the future.
