A Saudi child died yesterday evening by drowning in a fountain in Al-Laith Governorate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah region.

And the website of the local Saudi newspaper "Sabq" reported: "A two-year-old child fell inside the interactive fountain of Laith, this evening, in the negligence of his family, to be killed instantly."

She noted that the child was accompanied by his family for a walk near the fountain, and fell inside it, and he died instantly.

The site indicated that the child's body was taken to the dead refrigerator in Al-Laith General Hospital, in preparation for completing the necessary procedures regarding the accident.

And "Previously" quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the fountain lacked barriers preventing children from falling, amid calls to secure it quickly.
