A former employee of a data erasure company who was arrested for stealing another disk due to a problem that a hard disk of Kanagawa prefectural government office that contained a large amount of personal information was exhibited at an online auction, "I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it."

The problem is that 18 hard disks used in the Kanagawa Prefectural Government Office were taken from a data erasing company "Blow Drink" in Chuo-ku, Tokyo and exhibited on an auction site, and another 12 hard disks were stolen from the company. Yuichi Takahashi (51), a former employee arrested in Tokyo, was sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office on the 8th.

In response to investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department, suspect Takahashi started taking out about three years immediately after joining the company, and also accepted the case of the Kanagawa prefectural office. "I thought it wouldn't be done." I learned from interviews with investigators.

The hard disk is stored in the data erasing room of the office in Ota-ku, Tokyo, and authentication with an ID card or fingerprint is required to enter the room, and personal belongings are prohibited.

On the other hand, the baggage inspection when leaving the office was not done for everyone, but was done unannounced.

The Metropolitan Police Department considers that it has taken out hard disks on a daily basis and decides to check the past sales history.
