AI forecasts full-fledged demonstrations Saitama Dec. 6 15:55

A trial of a new service for predicting the influenza epidemic for each local government using AI = artificial intelligence has begun in Saitama City.

This service uses AI to predict the outbreak of influenza for up to a month, and was developed by a major electronics manufacturer.

From the 6th, the first demonstration experiment in Saitama city began in Japan, and the development staff participated in a gathering of mothers raising children and explained how to use the flu forecast.

The influenza forecast is a combination of data such as the outbreak status of influenza patients in the past 8 years up to last year at approximately 20 medical institutions in Saitama city, and the current outbreak status of patients, and AI predicts future epidemics is.

And it shows in 4 stages from “Level 0” where there are no patients to “Level 3” which shows the same level of situation as the peak in Saitama city last year.

Forecasts are issued every week for up to 4 weeks ahead, and can be viewed on the website or on the LINE dedicated account.

What I developed was a joint researcher who raised three children, and when the child became flu, he started researching whether he could predict it because he realized how hard it was.

The mother who participated said, “I want to use it because it is easy to determine what to do with my family's schedule by looking at the forecast of the flu epidemic.”

The person in charge of Hitachi, who developed it, said, “We developed it because there was a need for flu forecasts as well as weather forecasts.

Influenza forecasts in Saitama City will be held until March 20 next year, and the manufacturers that have developed will want to consider implementation in other local governments in the future.
