German dietitian Gabriela Kaufmann described dietary fiber as the key to health and fitness.
In order to take advantage of the health benefits of dietary fiber, it should be taken in the amount of 30 grams per day.
The dietary fiber activates digestion and is an effective weapon to fight constipation. It also cleanses the intestine from toxins and protects the stomach wall, which contributes to the prevention of bowel cancer.
Dietary fiber also helps to feel full without supplying the body with calories.
In addition, dietary fiber prevents blood sugar from rising rapidly and significantly, protecting against severe hunger and preventing diabetes.
Kaufman noted that dietary fiber sources are whole grain products, legumes (peas and beans), fruits and vegetables (kiwi, pineapple, spinach, cabbage), oat flakes, chia seeds and flaxseed.
