The Ukrainian boxing federation announced the death of the young heroine, Amina Pollach, 18, after being hit by a train bound from Kiev to Feodosia.
Ukrainian police said the girl was on her way home from the pharmacy. She used earphones and could not hear the sound of the approaching train that ran over her on Thursday.
Amina Pollach won the title of champion of Ukraine and won the bronze medal at the European Championship for young women, held in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
