INTERVIEW

A year ago, was born the movement of "yellow vests". The crisis lasted for months and shook the highest circles of power. Monday evening, at 9 pm, BFMTV proposes a long investigation: Macron-Yellow Vests: the secret history . The promise of the chain? "Bring viewers backstage at the Élysée," as journalists Bruce Toussaint and Natacha Rios explain.

"The president was almost lynched"

"This movement, it was much followed through the demonstrations," recalls Natacha Rios at the microphone of Europe 1. BFMTV wanted this time to approach the crisis from another angle, the side of the presidential palace. "This shows the mood of Emmanuel Macron at that time, how he felt, or not, the crisis," says the reporter. The investigation reveals notably the power games in progress at the Élysée during the movement.

Bruce Toussaint will lead a debate just after the program has been broadcast. "We can have the feeling that we have seen almost everything and heard about this case, but I was stuck with the film," he says, highlighting the presence of "documents never seen". The former matinalier mentions Emmanuel Macron's visit to Puy-en-Velay in December 2018, where the presidential convoy was targeted by "yellow vests". "The president was almost lynched," says Bruce Toussaint.
