The auction for the legendary olive green vest by Nirvana band singer Kurt Cobain, worn during the recording of the unplugged concert of 1993 and never washed, flew to New York on Saturday.

The seller of this legendary vest, Garrett Kletjian, owner of a racing team (Forty7 Motorsports), had acquired it four years ago for $ 137,500. This vest, which belonged to Kurt Cobain, is a vintage model from the now-defunct Manhattan brand, which is branded, including a cigarette hole, and has never been washed. It was estimated between $ 200,000 and $ 300,000 by auction house Julien's Auctions.

The "Unplugged" concert, recorded in New York on November 18, 1993 for the MTV music channel, corresponds to the apogee of the most outstanding rock band of the 1990s, which crystallized around him a musical movement, the grunge.

The acoustic stage performance ("Unplugged" means unplugged) occurred less than six months before Kurt Cobain's suicide on April 5, 1994, was depressive and heroin dependent.
