The American actor Robert Forster, who won an Oscar nomination for his role in the movie Jackie Brown (1997), died this Friday at age 78 in Los Angeles (USA), his publicist reported to the specialized media The Hollywood Reporter

Forster (Rochester, USA, 1941) died due to brain cancer .

The death of the actor came the same day he premiered on Netflix El Camino , a film derived from the plot of the Breaking Bad series and where Forster had one of his last roles.

Although he had a long acting career both in film and on television, Forster is known to the general public, mainly, for the final part of his career after Tarantino gave him one of the leading roles in the film Jackie Brown .

Along with a cast led by Pam Grier and which also included stars such as Samuel L. Jackson or Robert De Niro, Forster knew how to shine with his own light and was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor.

Finally, that statuette went to Robin Williams for her work in Good Will Hunting (1997).

The participation in this Tarantino film gave new wings to Forster's career, which from there included works for prestigious filmmakers such as Gus Van Sant in Psycho (1998) or David Lynch in Mulholland Drive (2001) and in the second stage of the Twin Peaks series.

Forster also left his mark on other films such as Me, Myself & Irene (2000), Human Nature (2001), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Lucky Number Slevin (2006) or The Descendants (2011).

In addition, the artist had a small but very important role in the outcome of Breaking Bad , the acclaimed series that starred Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

Forster repeated that role in the newly released El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie , a television movie for the Netflix digital platform and that, with the direction and a script by Vince Gilligan (the creator of Breaking Bad ), tells the story of Jesse (Paul ) in the hours and days after what was seen in the final chapter of the series.
