As for the details of her experience in the world of ambulance, and how she arrived to be the first Emirati to work in the field of air ambulance, Hamda Al Hammadi told «Emirates Today»: I started my career in 2008, when I joined the work of the Dubai Ambulance Services, as an emergency medical technician, after I graduated in Higher College of Technology, and obtained a Bachelor of Emergency Medicine degree excellence.

She added: I joined the field work, and proved efficiency and achieved successes in addition to my professional balance, which earned me the confidence of my superiors, led by the Executive Director of the Foundation Khalifa bin Dray, who extended my hand to encourage and motivate, which led me to join the air ambulance service, especially when touched my enthusiasm for my work, and my sincerity In serving the public and saving their lives.

Challenges

As for the challenges she faced during her trip, Al-Hammadi recalls that during her early years she faced some challenges, such as the lack of public acceptance of her field work, being a woman, believing that her feminine nature prevents her from performing her assigned tasks. Hamda stressed that working on the helicopter requires special skills to deal with the patient at altitudes.
