Four years ago, the Syrian refugee Khalil Khalil lived in Germany, where he was able to learn classical German and two local dialects to explain to the Germans themselves.
The videos produced by Khalil and published by SWR have made his star shine in his home state of Baden-Württemberg, and even the local media call him "language genius".
Khalil was honored by the state administration and received the "Home Medal", which is awarded to people who have a role in the cultural and social scene in the state.
"Of course the Germans can speak their local dialects, but what I've noticed is that many of them don't know how to explain them," Khalil, who has been living in Germany for four years, told Muhajer News. .
Khalil, who grew up in the Syrian city of Aleppo, speaks Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish and English. Although at the beginning of his arrival in Germany he wanted to continue as a lawyer, having a law degree, but the inability to practice in Germany made him change his career.
