Saturday and Sunday, many artists have rendezvous on the stage of the Paris Est Têttu Festival. For Romain Burrel, editor of the magazine "Têtu", such an event was missing in the big family of French festivals.

INTERVIEW

Saturday and Sunday is the Paris Est Têtu Festival, a new festival that opens its doors at Hippodrome d'Auteuil in Paris. For the occasion, Émilie Mazoyer receives, in Music! , Romain Burrel, editor of the magazine Têtu, at the origin of the festival. At his side, the electro band Hyphen Hyphen, head of the Paris Est Têtu Festival.

Jake Shears, Corinne, Kiddy Smile, Alice and Me, Hyphen Hyphen ... The artists present at the Paris Est Pete Festival may be all trend, they are not alike. Except on one point: their support for the LGBT cause, like the magazine Têtu , creator of the event. "The idea is to support Têtu , a small magazine difficult to do, that we relaunched a year ago, at arm's length and which we are very proud," says Romain Burrel.

The Paris Est Têtu Festival is also a "moment of celebration" that "gives voice to LGBT and queer-friendly artists," says Romain Burrel. This will not be an exclusive event since Romain Burrel holds the openness to the newspaper. "It's an open festival, you do not have to be LGBT to come to the festival," he promises.

Music: the DNA of Têtu

But why set up a music festival? "Music is in the DNA of Têtu ", answers Romain Burrel. "This is very important for the LGBT community and is even the first refuge when you are a young homosexual or transsexual for LGBT people."

The festival will take place at the Jockey Club, located within the Hippodrome d'Auteuil, will accommodate more than 3,500 people. And, it is no coincidence that the Paris Est Têttu Festival is held at the borders of Paris. "We wanted a place a little out of the way because we thought it was cooler to do this event," says Burrel.
