At the end of the magical festival of the castle of music and singing in Cairo last night, musician Omar Khairat presented a bunch of his most famous compositions, which have been associated with the public consciousness over the past decades, television and cinema.

On the open stage of the castle of Salah al-Din, Khairat sat behind the piano to play over an hour of music: "The Second Meeting", "The Case of Uncle Ahmed", "Gawaish", "Question of Principle", "Scrooge and Me" and other series and dramas.

Khairat was accompanied by a group of skilled musicians, including fugitive Manal Mohieddin and Marimba Nessma Abdelaziz.

The ceremony was attended by a large audience from different social and age groups who took the opportunity to attend the event held outside the walls of the Opera House, where Khairat (70 years) used to present his concerts.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the number of visitors to the 28th edition of the two-week festival was about 130,000.

Earlier, Omar Khairat's concert was preceded by a performance by the Sohag Folklore Ensemble, during which she presented singing and performing paintings from southern Egypt.

The Citadel Music and Singing Festival was founded in 1990 and is considered one of the most prominent summer festivals in Egypt.
