A little snow, a little rain: The new week in Germany starts uncomfortably and cold. The temperatures remain only single-digit during the day and reach maximum values of up to 7 degrees. This was announced by the German Weather Service (DWD).
The winter has come in the night of Sunday almost throughout Germany. In the coming week it can come at night up to minus 8 degrees also to frost and smoothness. Reason is the high "Burckhard", at the edge of Germany, said Florian Bilgeri of the DWD. Due to the resulting flow from the northeast, much cooler air than before reached Germany.
It is not enough for sledging yet
The Monday starts with many clouds and in some places with rain, which according to DWD above 500 meters can come down as snow. But sledging is not enough according to Bilgeri. "The amounts of fresh snow are also low in the mountains." The maximum values reach between 0 degrees at the higher edge of the Alps and 7 degrees in the northwest. At night it then cools to 3 to minus 8 degrees. It is sometimes smooth.
Even on Tuesday, it will continue to be much friendlier with many clouds. Only south of the Main, according to DWD, sometimes the sun can prevail. With daily highs of 0 to 5 degrees it stays cold. At night, the temperature drops to minus 5 degrees.
In the middle of the week, it is usually dry, but Wednesday, in addition to many clouds, can sometimes come up with sunny sections. Peak values reach in the west and at the sea to 6, otherwise 1 to 4 degrees. Even in the night to Thursday, it can then be smooth again.
