US actress Selma Blair suffers from her own words in multiple sclerosis. She received the diagnosis in August, the 46-year-old announced on Saturday by writing an emotional contribution to Instagram, an online network. However, she had already observed the symptoms of autoimmune disease "for years".

I was in this wardrobe fitting two days ago. And I am in the deepest gratitude. So profound, it is, I have decided to share. The brilliant costumer #Allisaswanson #harlglass wants to wear this new #Netflix show, but she carefully gets my legs in my pants, pulls my tops over my head, my coats buttons and offers her to steady myself. I have #multiplesclerosis. I am in an exacerbation. By the grace of the lord, and by Netflix, I have a job. A wonderful job. I am disabled. I sometimes fall. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it. And I laugh and I do not know exactly what I want to do but I want to do my best. Since my diary at ten thirty pm on the night of August 16, especially @jaime_king @sarahmgellar @realfreddieprinze @tarasubkoff @ noah.d.newman. My producers #noreenhalpers who assured me that everyone has something. #chrisregina #aaronmartin and every crew member ... thank you. I am in the thick of it but I hope to give some hope to others. And even to myself. You can not help unless you ask. It can be overwhelming in the beginning. You want to sleep. You always want to sleep. So I do not have answers. You see, I want to sleep. But I'm on the forthcoming person and I want to be full. I want to play with my son again. I want to walk down the street and ride my horse. I have MS and I am ok. But if you see me, dropping crap all over the street, feel free to help pick it up. It takes a whole day for me alone. Thank you and may we all know good days among the challenges. And the biggest thanks to @elizberkley who forced me to see her brother #drjasonberkley who gave me this diagnosis after finding that on mri. I thought I had a pinched nerve. I fell down in front of him. I have probably had this incurable disease for 15 years at least. And I relied on at least know. And share. Inst my instagram family ... you know who you are.

"I'm disabled, sometimes I fall, I drop things, my memory is fogged, and my left side is asking for instructions on a broken navigation system," Blair wrote. At the same time, she confidently said, "We can handle it." Although she still did not know exactly what she was going to do, she wanted to do her best.

She wants to play with her son again and ride her horse, Blair explained. The 46-year-old also provided insights into her everyday life, which had become more difficult due to the illness. "I have multiple sclerosis and I'm OK, but if you see me drop things on the street, feel free to help me pick it up, and I alone will need a full day."

A costume designer helps with dressing

With her Instagram post, the 46-year-old wanted to say her own words to the costume designer Alissa Swanson, who takes care of her. Swanson helps her get dressed and "offers me her shoulder to stop me". Blair also thanked Hollywood colleagues like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jaime King.

Blair has been known through films such as "Ice Cold Angels" (1999) and "Fog - Fog of Dread" (2005) and also had roles in various series.

Studies from Western countries have shown that the life expectancy of MS patients has increased. In the past, it was assumed that about half of all MS patients would be permanently ill after five to ten years and that they could no longer work. Thanks to new therapies, according to the experts, this has improved significantly.

The disease is considered genetically modified, but should also be related to environmental factors such as smoking, vitamin D deficiency or overweight in adolescence.
