Morocco is waiting for the launch of the satellite «Mohammed VI B», from the base of Kourou of the Guiana, French province in South America, of French sovereignty, today.

The new satellite, the second of its kind in the program «Mohammed VI A and B», after the launch of the first moon on November 7 last.

The satellite weighs 1110 kilograms and will be able to manage and control forest resources, fire control, groundwater exploration and urbanization, and will also be able to develop the road and rail network.

The mission of the Mohammed VI satellite is to map, map survey activities to serve the Kingdom's development, agricultural monitoring, natural disaster prevention, environmental monitoring and desertification.

The moon will also monitor the coastal border.

The French company Tales Ilenia Spice has designed the image transfer, processing and production system, while Airbus has ensured the main system of the moon, the ground segment, and flight planning and control.

Through its space program, Morocco seeks to develop high-quality technological infrastructure for cartographic surveillance, rather than just aerial photography, or seeking images from international suppliers, and enhancing the kingdom's independence in this vital area.
