“This is a huge, irreparable loss for relatives and friends, for Lenkom, for Russian culture. Nikolai Karachentsov was subject to all genres of theatrical and cinema art - from comedy to drama, from tragedy to musicals and rock operas, ”a statement published on the government’s website said.

Medvedev noted that the actor’s characters are individuals, not just “images,” they are unique.

The prime minister concluded that Karachentsov "will forever remain in films, television plays, songs."

Nikolai Karachentsov died October 26 at the age of 73 years.
