Russian Ambassador: Armenia’s accession to the Union State was never discussed. In February, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan said that they were allegedly trying to force Armenia to join the Union state of Russia and Belarus.
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said the country had not received an offer to join. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov reported that statements about “pressure” on Armenia are untrue. The Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergei Kopyrkin denied rumors that Moscow is allegedly forcing Armenia to joining the UnionState.
