Archaeological research initially restores the appearance of Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou Dynasty and "reveals" the reasons for his untimely death. In 1993, the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archeology accidentally discovered a high-level Northern Zhou tomb in Chenma Village, Xianyang.

Unearthed text materials showed that the owner of the tomb was Yuwen Yong. In 578 AD, Yu Wenyong, who was only 36 years old, suffered a sudden illness and died young.
