Fraudsters are posing as employees of the Federal Tax Service, the Bank of Russia says. They send e-mails demanding that tax returns be filed.

"The scheme is built on a campaign to submit tax returns and poses a threat to a large number of people and individual entrepreneurs," the bank says. The total amount of damage amounted to 2 million rubles, it adds. The regulator is taking systematic measures to reduce the damage to the population from the actions of attackers, it says.
