According to the Russian satellite network citing Lebanese media reports, on the 4th local time, a violent explosion occurred in the port area of ​​Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, causing a passenger ship docked in the port to be severely damaged and sunk. The accident also caused two deaths and seven injuries on board.

  According to a report by the Voice of Lebanon, the passenger ship named "Queen of the Orient" was moored in Beirut port and was severely damaged in a big explosion on the evening of the 4th. The station quoted the owner Abou Merhi as saying that all "efforts and attempts to save the passenger ship were unsuccessful" and the ship eventually sank.

According to previous reports, Lebanese Interior Minister Fahmi said the explosion may have been caused by the chemical ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse in the port in 2014.
