Employer and the union Ver.di agreed on a tariff compromise for the security personnel at the German airports on the night of Thursday. After a month's break and several warning strikes, Ver.di and the Federal Association of Aviation Security Companies (BDLS) met on Wednesday for the fifth round of negotiations. Ver.di demanded significantly more money for the security personnel: So should the hourly wage for the employees of the passenger control from about 17 euros to 20 euros. National collective agreements should be replaced by a nationwide agreement.

Above all, the most recent warning strike on 15 January at the largest German airport in Frankfurt and seven other airports severely affected air traffic. Hundreds of flights were canceled, estimated that 200,000 passengers could not make their journey. Previously there were warning strikes on 10 January in Cologne / Bonn, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart and on 7 January in Berlin.

Collective bargaining involved three professional groups with different responsibilities at airports. One group controls passengers and their baggage, the second accesses and accesses to the airports and the third cargo, mail and catering for the aircraft.
