[ASEAN Special Line] UAE serves as special partner of the 21st China-ASEAN Expo

This is the first time that a Gulf country has served as a special partner of the China-ASEAN Expo.

  According to the CAEXPO Secretariat, the UAE will send a deputy ministerial-level official to lead a delegation to attend the 21st CAEXPO to be held in Nanning, China, from September 24 to 28, 2024, and will set up a national pavilion at the CAEXPO.

  2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United Arab Emirates. The CAEXPO Secretariat stated that promoting the UAE to serve as a special partner of the 21st CAEXPO is an important step in transforming the function of the CAEXPO platform from serving China-ASEAN "10+1" cooperation to serving " Another powerful measure to expand the Belt and Road Initiative will further promote economic and trade exchanges between the UAE and China and ASEAN countries, and expand regional exchanges and cooperation.

  In the past 20 years, the CAEXPO, co-sponsored by the economic and trade departments of China and the ten ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretariat, has promoted China-ASEAN bilateral trade volume to grow at an average annual rate of more than 13%, and the two sides have become each other's largest trading partners. The China-ASEAN Expo not only focuses on cooperation between China and ASEAN, but is also open to the world. It has set up the "Belt and Road" international exhibition area for several consecutive sessions. Chambers of commerce and companies from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries such as the Japan External Trade Organization and the Korea Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Association have participated in the exhibition many times.

  According to the CAEXPO Secretariat, the 21st CAEXPO Friends Circle will continue to "expand" and will invite more high-quality enterprises from countries co-building the "Belt and Road" to participate in the exhibition. It will also hold an Australian enterprise trip to Guangxi for the first time.

  According to reports, the 21st China-ASEAN Expo will expand cooperation in strategic emerging areas such as digital economy, green and low-carbon, and showcase the latest technological levels in new energy, intelligent connected vehicles, ecological and environmental protection and other fields; a new ASEAN high-tech product exhibition area will be set up to showcase the ASEAN region Industry development trends.
