Internet audio and video is still a "time-killing weapon". It is reported that the average daily usage time of mobile audio-visual applications will exceed 3 hours in 2023. Specifically, short video applications have the highest user stickiness, with an average daily usage time of 151 minutes per person, while long video, entertainment/game live broadcast, online audio and other applications have an average daily usage time of 112 minutes, 63 minutes, and 29 minutes respectively.

The "Report" points out that online audio and video plays an important role in rural revitalization. In the past two years, the increase in online audiovisual users in China has mainly come from rural areas. The number of rural users has reached 320 million in 2023; the total number of short video accounts on platforms focusing on online audiovisual business has reached 1.55 billion.

Short videos/live broadcasts have a significant effect on boosting consumption, with more than 70% of users purchasing products by watching short videos/live broadcasts. Short video/live broadcast has also become the "strongest CP" with cultural tourism and e-commerce. Half of the users are "hard fans" of live broadcasts and products; more than 40% of users like to watch travel and scenery videos. The previous boom in Zibo and Harbin tourism , Internet audiovisual also plays an important role.

As the most important “spiritual food” for the public, online audio-visual content is huge. At present, China's online audio-visual industry has shifted from "borrowing ships to go to sea" to "building ships to go to sea" and is an important force in overseas communication. As of the end of 2023, major long-form video applications have been downloaded overseas more than 300 million times; in 2023, major online audio applications have been downloaded overseas more than 3.8 million times, with a cumulative on-demand volume of nearly 1.4 billion times.
