was a refugee in France, where he ran the Telegram Amadnews channel which had over a million subscribers and played a leading role in calling for protests against Iranian rule.

Indeed, he had gone to Iraq believing that the Iraqi Grand Ayatollah, Al-Sistani would grant him an audience and provide him with support in his fight against Iranian power.

According to some media, he was captured by the intelligence services of the Revolutionary Guards before being taken to Iran for trial.

Iranian television showed the image of Rouhollah Zam as he was in the back of a car blindfolded.

In recent years, several Iranian opponents who have taken refuge in Europe or the United States have been captured under identical conditions.

Leading role in 2017

He played a leading role in the 2017 anti-government protests with his Telegram channel Amadnews which was followed by over a million people.

He regularly called for the overthrow of Iranian power and broadcast images of anti-government protests.

His father is a second rank religious who held various positions, particularly in the cultural field.

Which made some believe that her son was going to escape execution.
