  • The international air transport organization has requested the implementation of health corridors by offering antigenic tests at airports.

  • These rapid tests against Covid-19 have been offered since this Friday for passengers departing from Nice.

Since 5 a.m. this Friday, passengers departing from Nice airport can be clear, in thirty minutes, with the Covid-19.

Antigenic tests are offered in a specially designed space in Terminal 2, “the first complete technical platform and supervised by the health authorities”, according to the platform.

A space has been set up in terminal 2 of the airport - ACA

It responds "to the request of the international organization of air transport (IATA) for the implementation of health corridors", recalls the company Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur (ACA).

For the moment, the device therefore only applies to travelers leaving from Nice.

“These are the guidelines for now.

If they have to change, we will be able to adapt and test the arrivals, ”says the airport at

20 minutes

.

Free and on a voluntary basis

Carried out with the Nice metropolis, this “life-size test intended to be deployed more widely and in a long-lasting manner in other airports”, according to ACA, is offered primarily to travelers traveling on Air France and Alitalia flights.

And in particular to overseas departments and territories, with a stopover at Paris-Orly or Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, and to travelers to Rome, specifies the company Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur.

They are also available to other passengers, free of charge, on a voluntary basis.

Antigenic tests, which perform less well than current PCR tests, do not require laboratory analysis, and the result can be known in 10 to 30 minutes.

Also based on a nasal swab, they show better efficacy for people developing symptoms suggestive of Covid-19.
