The Government's negotiations with the self-employed to extend the aid framework for the COVID-19 crisis, which expires next Wednesday, have led to
a pre-agreement that will last until January 31.
With the new agreed scheme, around
600,000 people
will benefit from the aid, which covers the decrease in activity suffered by the businesses of these workers and entrepreneurs as a result of the coronavirus crisis, as reported by the
Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA ), the most representative body of this group, which has around three million members.
The preliminary agreement will be ratified tomorrow by the self-employed and, foreseeably, approved in the Council of Ministers just one day before the current framework expires.
Employers and unions are currently negotiating a similar preliminary agreement with the Government
to reach the Council of Ministers tomorrow with the sectorialization of aid proposed by the Government as the main obstacle to a pact.
