Six dating app providers were found that falsely advertised as a blind date application most often used by large corporate employees or professionals, and whose advertising model was a member.

The Fair Trade Commission announced that it imposed a total penalty of 33 million won on six dating app operators and issued a corrective order for violating the e-commerce law.

Amanda, You and Me, and Tech Labs, which operated Groove, were fined 8.5 million won, respectively, 6 million won for Colon D and Iumso Sears, 5.5 million won for Cupist, 6 million won for Mosette, and 1 million won for Care Labs. I did it.

TechLabs, which runs'Amanda' and'You and Me', attracted consumers in a false way by using expressions such as "premium apps most used by large companies and professionals" and "matching one couple every 6 seconds" without objective grounds. .

Although the person appearing in the app advertisement is not a member, but an advertisement model, he used false identification information to decorate it as a member.

The blind date app'Heart Kung' advertised as "91% satisfaction with use" while selling a solo escape package, and "Date at Noon" counted the number of everyone who logged in within the last 3 hours and marked it as "the opposite sex who is currently online." .

Although there are legal deadlines under the e-commerce law to get a refund, some have prevented this.

While selling an item that could be used in the app, Amanda did not give a refund to a consumer who requested a refund within 7 days of the purchase because she used some of the item.

This violates the e-commerce law, which stipulates that even if digital content is used, the remaining unused portion must be refunded.

In addition, six business operators, including Tech Labs, did not provide consumers with information on the terms of the transaction, such as the period, method, and effect of withdrawal for products.

They do not display the identity information of the business operator on the initial screen of the app, and do not link a page to view business information.
