Data revealed by the Dubai Statistics Center, issued by Dubai Municipality, showed that the total number of completed buildings in the emirate reached 2,104 new buildings during the first eight months of 2020.

The new buildings were distributed between January and August 2020 between 995 buildings for private villas, 643 buildings for investment villas, 263 multi-storey buildings, 107 industrial buildings and 96 public buildings.

According to data obtained by Emirates Today, the private villas topped the list of completed buildings between January and August 2020, with a share of 47.3%, followed by investment villas with a share of 30.6%, then multi-storey buildings by 12.5%, while The share of industrial buildings was 5.1%, and public buildings 4.6%.

The total number of completed buildings in Dubai during last January reached 271, while in February it reached 327 buildings, while in March the number reached 353 buildings, while April recorded 229 buildings, bringing the total number of buildings completed in May to 214 buildings. Against 221 buildings in June.

The month of July recorded the completion of 252 new buildings, bringing the number to 237 last August.

The investment and private villas together accounted for 77.9% of the number of completed buildings, during the period between January and August, with a record 1638 buildings.

According to "Dubai Statistics", these figures relate to buildings completed in areas under Dubai Municipality during the specified period.

It is noteworthy that the number of buildings completed in Dubai last year reached 6665 new buildings with a total value of 36 billion and 114 million dirhams, with a growth rate of 6%.

Private villas account for 47.3% of the total.
