“Fraudsters phoned citizens, promising deferrals in the payment of loans, various compensation, benefits, money back for airline tickets, services for diagnosing coronavirus infection, volunteering,” the Central Bank website says.

Attackers also send out emails with links to phishing sites. They often fake the brand and corporate identity of well-known organizations and departments.

The regulator advises not to inform unauthorized persons and not to enter your bank card data, SMS passwords on unknown sites.

As suggested by the Central Bank, the theme of the virus can be used by fraudsters throughout the pandemic. The appearance of new tricks is not ruled out.

Earlier, the newspaper Izvestia reported that the head of the Association for the Development of Financial Literacy under the Central Bank, Andrei Paranich, warned of a new method of fraud against the background of the situation with coronavirus.
