• Helps: the masks and divers donated by Inditex for the coronavirus will leave for Spain in the next few hours

Inditex, the textile giant founded by Amancio Ortega and owner of chains such as Zara, Massimo Dutti and Stradivarius, among others, has already brought to Spain more than 35 million protection units of different types to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

It has done this through its logistics, since it has one of the most powerful networks, and thanks to this, it has established a logistics corridor with China to bring this material to our country.

There are several weekly flights from China, of which ten convoys have landed since March 23, loaded with protection units in front of the Covid-19. This morning the last of these flights has landed in Zaragoza and another cargo ship is scheduled to arrive later today.

These remittances have already delivered 1,200 respirators, 21 million masks, 13 million gloves, 485,000 tests, 384,000 face shields, 181,000 waterproof protective gowns, 100,000 glasses, 132,175 protective divers and four robots dedicated to hospitals that allow acceleration. coronavirus test results.

Donations

This material includes the acquisitions made by the Government, the Autonomous Communities, hospitals and "the private contributions of many companies, private donations , and purchases made by Inditex and by the Amancio Ortega Foundation," the company said in a statement.

The textile company usually receives and ships its garments from Zaragoza airport, which has become a kind of aerodrome for receiving medical aid.

Since the confinement began and the state of alarm was decreed, Inditex made its logistics network available to the Government in order to bring this medical material from China.

The company "has made available to the health authorities and to those companies and organizations that want to contribute to covering medical needs, all its logistics and supply capacity for the acquisition and transportation of this material," says Pablo Isla, president of the company, in a statement.
