Putin discussed joint energy projects with Bulgarian President

Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation during which they discussed the implementation of joint energy projects. This was reported in the Kremlin.

“Putin and Radev discussed a number of pressing issues of Russian-Bulgarian cooperation with an emphasis on the implementation of projects in the energy sector,” the press service commented.

During the conversation, the Bulgarian leader confirmed his participation in commemorative events in Moscow on May 9, 2020 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The conversation was initiated by the Bulgarian side.

On January 8, the leaders of Russia, Turkey and Serbia, Vladimir Putin, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Alexander Vucic, as well as Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, held in Istanbul the ceremony of launching the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.

The expert Alexander Perov, in an interview with FBA Economics Today, expressed the view that the launch of the Turkish Stream will allow Russia to significantly strengthen its position in the EU gas market.
