In addition, two directors said that the hotel market in the UAE annually witnesses thousands of new rooms entering service, which contributes to increasing employment rates in the tourism sector, in addition to the continuous expansion of national carriers.

In detail, the World Travel and Tourism Council stated that the tourism and travel sector in the UAE market will create 25,000 jobs during the current year, of which 18,000 are direct jobs.

Data for the council, Emirates Today obtained a copy, showed that the contribution of the tourism and travel sector in the UAE labor market will reach more than 653 thousand direct and indirect jobs in 2020, compared to 628 thousand jobs during the past year, with a growth rate of about 4 %.

It indicated that the contribution of the tourism and travel sector to the local labor market increased from 6.9% of the total job volume in 2009 to about 9.7% by the end of last year.

For his part, the general manager of the Tamani Marina Hotel, Walid Al-Awa, said that the hotel market in the UAE annually witnesses thousands of new rooms entering the service, which contributes to increasing employment rates in the tourism sector, in light of the continuous growth of the tourism movement and the flow of international visitors. »Noting the large volume of investments attracted by the UAE annually.

And Al-Awa pointed out that the new hotel establishments require employing a lot of cadres to operate them, including restaurants and recreational facilities attached to them, pointing out that the Emirates occupies a prominent position on the international tourism map, and includes many luxury hotels and resorts that attract millions of tourists annually.

He said that operating a five-star luxury hotel facility with about 250 rooms would require employing 250 to 300 people to operate directly.

He pointed out that a large number of new hotels that are still in the construction stage will enter the market during the coming period, providing more direct and indirect job opportunities related to the support services for them.

In the same context, Saeed Al-Abdi, president of the “Al-Abdi Holding Company for Tourism and Travel” said, “The continuous growth of the air transport and hospitality sector contributes annually to providing thousands of new jobs in the field of tourism and travel.” He pointed out that the sector also contributes significantly to supporting Other economic sectors, such as transportation, transportation, entertainment and food services, as well as tour operators and others.
