Fashion building "Marui" Stores in Kyoto and Kawagoe Closed next year November 1 20:41

The Marui Group, which operates the Marui fashion building, has been closing stores in Kyoto and Kawagoe, Saitama next year due to sluggish sales.

The Marui Group has decided to close the “Kyoto Marui” in Kyoto at the end of May next year and the commercial facility “Kawagoe Modi” in Kawagoe, Saitama at the end of January next year.

“Kyoto Marui” opened in 2011 = 2011 as a successor to the department store “Shijo Kawaramachi Hankyu”. Sales last year were more than 4.8 billion yen, and sales increased, but compared to the initial assumption. It means that we decided to close the store because the growth slowed down.

“Kawagoe Modi” is a commercial facility that was opened after renovating the Marui Kawagoe store in 2007 = 2007. Sales last year were over 1.7 billion yen.

I decided to rent the building and close the store to get rent income.

Some tenants will continue to operate.

According to the Marui Group, “Employees are relocating to other stores, but employees who want to stay in the local area want to support reemployment.”
