For the second time in a row, the emirate of Abu Dhabi has won the first place in the category of the best tourist destinations in the Middle East, at the Travel Weekly Readers' Choice Awards 2019.

The award coincides with the participation of the emirate in the 12th edition of the World Tourism Exchange Asia - Exhibition, which was held in Singapore, where the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, along with a number of major partners, some of the best tourism offers and services in the emirate.

The annual Travel Weekly Asia Magazine poll is based on the readers of Travel magazine from across the continent.

Representatives from the Department of Culture and Tourism came to the Mandarin Orchard Hotel Singapore to receive this important award.


Saeed Rashid Al Saeed, Director of Destination Marketing at the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the award. “We are proud to be selected by Travel Weekly readers of Asia as the best tourist destination in the Middle East, which is the result of years of work on The enhancement of Abu Dhabi's status as a global center for culture and tourism, and its choice for such recognition is the culmination of these efforts.

The award is the latest in a series of prizes Abu Dhabi has won this year. The emirate was named earlier this year as the best business destination in the Middle East at the World Travel Awards. In May, Abu Dhabi was ranked by French holidaymaker Club Med as one of the world's top ten family tourist destinations. The awards follow a series of achievements by the UAE capital in the tourism industry, including a 5.8% increase in visitors in 2018, as well as the establishment of new tourism destinations and events such as Abu Dhabi Challenge Week, Abu Dhabi Family Week, and Palace Motherland.
