“We will seek from them an honest recognition of what is happening not only around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but also around Ukraine in general, because until now, international officials’ assessments of all aspects of what is happening around this country and within the framework of a special military operation... These assessments have been one-sided, let’s say soft. This position needs to be corrected,” the Russian Foreign Minister said at a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing.

On April 7, Ukrainian troops fired at the dome of the sixth power unit of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar. International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors confirmed at least three hits at the site for the first time since November 2022.

On April 8, Ukrainian troops attacked the plant again, and a kamikaze drone was shot down over the nuclear power plant. The drone fell on the roof of the sixth power unit.

Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, believes that the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, knows where the threat to the security of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant comes from, but will not dare to condemn Kyiv for shelling the facility.
